We invite you to the “Book Lab” meeting on March 11, dedicated to Truman Capote’s story “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

The meeting will be led by Ekaterina Konakova.

This evening we will talk about the author and the birth story of the work, its cultural context and why this small narrative has remained relevant for decades. We analyze the character of the characters, discuss hidden meanings and try to understand the secret of Holly Golightly’s charm.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is the story of Holly Golighty, a charming and freedom-loving young woman in 1940s New York who dreams of stability and a life of luxury. Through friendship with the writer-narrator, themes of loneliness, the fear of growing up, the desire for independence and the search for one’s place are revealed. It is a story about the fragility of illusions and the price to be paid for dreams.

The book can be found in several copies in Narva Central Library.

The event will be held in Russian.

Entrance is free.

Photo and video recording will take place at the event.

We welcome everyone who loves literature and is ready for a lively discussion!
