Tsirgupäev – Estonian folk holiday celebrating birds and spring

The custom of CIRGUPAEVA, an important day in the folk calendar, is introduced.

As is typical for this holiday, the activities are related to the theme of spring and the expectation of migratory birds: an introduction to the Tsirgu day customs and play, stories about the behavior of resident and migratory birds, a workshop on willow braids, a workshop on making bird nest boxes, singing together.
