Live dialogue with writer Tanja Shatil

“Living dialogue” is an open meeting with interesting people of our city – a sincere conversation, an opportunity to ask the author questions, hear directly about his creative path and communicate in a warm and intimate atmosphere.

Tanja Shatil is a writer from Narva, the author of short-form prose, whose work focuses on human relationships, inner choices and the everyday life of a modern person. He was born and raised in Narva, and his personal story, observations and many artistic images are connected to this city.

Tanja’s main specialty is a dentist. Years of work with people and attentive attitude to people’s experiences and destinies are also reflected in his literary style: his stories are characterized by psychological precision, sincere tone and sensitivity to detail.

Tanja Shatil is the author of the following books:

• “Miljon lugu” (2022) – a collection of stories in which some of the texts have been recognized at literary competitions;

• “Eleven love stories” – a book about different forms of love: for loved ones, life and oneself.

Tanja’s works have been published in both electronic and printed publications. Among them is the magazine “Novõje Oblaka”, where his story “Marta” was published, as well as other publications of the Russian-language literary space in Estonia.

An important place in his creative biography is occupied by publications in well-known publications in the Russian literary space. Tanja has twice published her work in the literary almanac “Tsaritsyn”, which is the official publication of the Union of Professional Writers of Russia. His works have also been published in the magazine “Koltso A” – the literary journal of the Moscow Writers’ Union. These publications are of significant importance for authors writing in Russian and belong to the professional literary space.

Tanja Shatil is the 1st place laureate of the international literary award “Slavic word” in the nomination “Small Prose”, which is an important milestone in her creative path.

The author has also participated in other literary competitions, including the “DIAS-2021” prize, where he represented Estonia.

Supporting young authors plays an important role in Tanja’s activities. His mission is to encourage and support teenagers and beginning writers who write in a “drawer”, doubt themselves and do not dare to share their texts with the world. He is convinced that every voice deserves to be heard and talent needs support as well as inspiration.

Tanja Shatil’s work is aimed at a wide readership. His characters are ordinary people in recognizable life situations. The stories focus on feelings, moral choices, memory, family ties, and the fine line between chance and fate. The author often creates composite images based on life observations and gives the texts credibility and emotional depth.

Today, Tanja Shatil continues her literary activity, combining it with professional work and active participation in the cultural life of her city.

Photo and video recording will take place at the event.

The event will be held in Russian.

Entrance is free.
