WOMEN’S CIRCLE: textile workshop “Spring threads”
On the occasion of Women's Day, the Narva Museum gives a special gift – the creative textile workshop "Kevadenitid", which will take place in the Art Gallery of the Narva Museum (Vestervalli 21).
On March 8 at 15:00, a creative meeting will take place, where mothers, grandmothers, daughters and grandchildren are invited. In today's busy world, we sew and embroider less and less. Such meetings help to keep alive the bond between generations and pass on the warmth of the craft to daughters and granddaughters. The workshop produces textile brooches and pendants, which are inspired by the familiar Kreenholm fabrics.
The artist Natalja Kapajeva, who worked as an artist at the Kreenholm Manufactory in Narva and has created more than 300 fabric patterns, introduces technical nuances and the charm of textile patterns. For 20 years, Natalja has been managing the activities of the NGO Club Patchwork Plus, through which she shares her rich knowledge and experience in the field of patchwork to all interested parties. She is a member of the Estonian Patchwork Society and Vestervalli Art Association.
A cozy intergenerational workshop helps to create, remember and continue nice family traditions.
The event will be held in Russian.
Participation is free, but pre-registration is required.
The project is co-financed by the European Union within the Erasmus+ program.
Textiles are an important part of our cultural heritage and the Erasmus+ project "FABRIC" focuses on museum practices that support its preservation and transmission.
