Etiquette night. The nuances of etiquette and good manners
We are waiting for you for an evening where we will talk about etiquette, sociability and good manners.
We discuss what etiquette means today and why its rules may differ in different situations. We will talk about how to introduce people to each other and get to know each other, how to start a conversation in the company of strangers and how to continue it smoothly and naturally.
We pay special attention to table manners – from the welcome drink to how to use cutlery and napkins. We also talk about how to eat more complex dishes and how to avoid awkward situations at the table.
We also look at smaller details, which are often not talked about separately, but which help us feel more secure and free in different situations: how to hold a wine glass, where to put a handbag, when to join the conversation, what is shown by the different positions of the cutlery and how to act when there seems to be no definite rule.
We talk, discuss everyday and slightly more complex situations, and of course we also practice.
It's an evening about etiquette and good manners without too much formality – about being considerate of others, feeling confident in different situations and behaving naturally and appropriately.
The evening is conducted Maaja Gundjaeva – art researcher, curator of exhibitions, organizer of cultural projects and lecturer in the field of culture.
