Exhibition of Irina Horeva’s patchwork works “Stories from Lapps under the blanket”
In Jõhvi City Gallery, Irina Horeva will be exhibiting an exhibition of patchwork works “Stories from Lapps under the blanket” from September 8.
Irina Horeva:
“I was born in Kohtla-Järve, studied medicine and worked at Ida-Viru Central Hospital.
I don’t have an art education, but I work in the Art Moment Studio supervised by Irina Baleva. I have acquired knowledge and skills about the nuances of light, shadows, form, volume, shape, proportions, color gamut, development of fantasy, and I use all this in my own patchwork works, which I have been working on for six years.
I like doing patchwork – choosing colors, small pieces of patchwork and fitting them into a single whole. A piece of my time, mood, fantasy and warmth remains in every finished item. .
Three years ago, my first exhibition was in Kohtla-Järve.
The Jõhvi city gallery exhibition is like a small part of a hobby that has become a part of my life in textile art.
