Theatrical Reading “Love Letters”
Theatrical Reading “Love Letters”
Südalinna Theatre actors Anna Sergeyeva and Aleksandr Kuchmezov will present a theatrical reading of A. R. Gurney’s play Love Letters to audiences in Narva. The event will take place on November 22 in the Small Hall of the Rugodiv Cultural Centre in Narva as part of the project Short Encounters in Narva.
The story is simple yet deeply touching: Andy and Melissa exchange letters over the course of many years. As children, they write notes to each other filled with birthday invitations, first disappointments, and the excitement of first love. As they grow older, their paths diverge and each builds a separate life, yet they return to one another time and again through their letters.
Love Letters by American playwright A. R. Gurney is a subtle and witty story about a love that can accompany a person throughout their entire life, even when two people never truly manage to be together.
As part of the Short Encounters in Narva project, the play will be presented as a staged reading performed by the actors of Südalinna Theatre.
