Movie “Morten”

Morten is a 15-year-old boy who lives with his uncle Urmas and the one-eyed cat Nurru in a dilapidated farm in an abandoned forest village. Morten’s mother is working in Finland to collect money for their future home, and the boy has never heard anything from his father. Morten tries at all costs to hide from his schoolmates what is really going on in his life, because all he wants is to be just a normal boy. However, it’s difficult because Morten doesn’t have much money or self-confidence, he only has a camera inherited from his grandfather, the photos he takes with it give him the feeling that he’s at least good at something, because the idea that someone could really love him or want to be his friend doesn’t fit in Morten’s head.

But at one point there are even two of them at the same time – Emilie, to whom Morten dares to tell about everything for the first time in her life and who looks forward to meeting the boy more than anything else, and Miia – a girl who should not be interested in a boy like Morten, but still does. Morten finally has to choose between two girls, and even though one of them has been dead for the past hundred years, it’s still a tough choice.
