Narva Jazz Club: Tiit Kalluste & Taavo Remmel

On 29 October at 7 PM, two outstanding and distinctive musicians on the Estonian music scene will meet at the University of Tartu Narva College — accordionist Tiit Kalluste and double bassist Taavo Remmel.

The accordion and the double bass are two instruments with very different characters, whose encounter creates a rich and surprisingly diverse sonic world.

In the musical dialogue between Tiit Kalluste and Taavo Remmel, jazz, improvisation, melodic expression and the sensitivity of chamber music intertwine. The expressive sound of the accordion and the deep, warm tones of the double bass create space both for the sheer joy of making music and for quiet, contemplative moments.

This is music that needs no grand gestures — just two experienced musicians listening attentively to one another, breathing as one and embracing the freedom to let the music emerge here and now.
