Play “The Invisible City” (in Russian)
There are streets in Narva that you can walk along only in memories. There is still a bench where my mother sat, someone’s voice is waiting in the phone booth, and plums are ripening in the garden, the taste of which you will remember for the rest of your life. Everyone has their own Narva. Sometimes all it takes is one random sentence to find yourself in someone else’s.
“Invisible City” is a play based on the play by Narva playwright Maksim Belozjorov, in which stories and reflections on the city take on an unexpected artistic form. Time allows people from different centuries to come together here, and a chance meeting can intertwine the destinies of strangers. Next to tenderness there is irony, next to the pain of loss there is hope, and love for the past creates a debate: how much of the past do we need to live in the present?
This is a personal story about Narva and the people, because of whom we call some places our own. From a city that changes as long as we remember. And of us who change with him.
From Narva people to Narva people with love.
