Miguel de Cervantes’ world-famous novel *The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha* (1605) is one of the most influential works in literary history – and, surprisingly, remains highly relevant even today.

At the heart of the production is the poor hidalgo Don Quixote, who, having read chivalric romances, decides to become a knight-errant to protect the weak and fight against injustice. Together with his faithful companion Sancho Panza, he sets out on a journey full of both comic and tragic adventures.

‘Don Quixote’ at the Südalinna Theatre is a production about human ideals and the price they come at. It speaks of faith in goodness, the courage to stand up for one’s convictions, and the willingness to see things through to the end – even when the world is working against you.
