Age Juurikas is a solo pianist and chamber musician with an orchestral and suggestive performance style, combining European and Russian piano playing traditions. She is also a passionate teacher, with students at both the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and the Tallinn School of Music and Ballet.
Age Juurikas's favourite repertoire dates from the first half of the 20th century, she is also interested in performing contemporary music and collaborates with a number of composers. In shaping her concert programmes, she has tried to swim against the current - not to stay within the framework of classical repertoire but to always find a place for fresher and less performed music.
In early 2018, she released her debut album, The Soul of Fire, which was named Chamber Music Album of the Year.
