The duet Anna-Liisa Eller and Taavi Kerikmäe
Wednesday, 11 June, 18:00
Narva Town Hall
Anna-Liisa Eller and Taavi Kerikmäe are a special creative union of sensitive musicians, rare musical instruments and a delicate but rich sound palette.
The duo combines instruments such as cembal d'amour, clavichords, psalteriums, arpanetta, diatonic and chromatic cannelles, harmonium and electronic instruments. Their repertoire covers music from the Middle Ages and late Baroque to works by contemporary composers.
The musicians pay special attention to Estonian Baroque music, particularly the work of David Kellner (1670-1748) and the legacy of his family. Based on his lute works, they create their own arrangements using basso continuo to bring out the beauty of this music in an ensemble sound.
The duo endeavours to present Kellner to a wider audience not only as a composer for lute and guitar, but also as one of the outstanding composers of his time.
